It is located at Majengo Musa in Mombasa, along Sharif Alwy Kassim Lane, off Mwabundu Road in Mvita Sub-County, Mombasa County.
It was established to ensure that even the less fortunate in the society can access quality healthcare irrespective of race, creed, colour, ethnicity, tribe or religion.
MEWA Hospital rose from its humble beginning as just an outpatient department to a fully-fledged hospital, with an in-patient capacity of 49 beds, 24/7 out-patient services, and accident & emergency, maternity services (delivery and MCH), diagnostic radiology services, laboratory services, theatre, a range of consultant clinics.
A newly appointed MEWA Board of Management, on behalf of the Muslim Community, is responsible for general governance oversight and supervision of activities.
